The Fleet Reserve Association is an organization for active or retired U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard members and their families. The FRA #289 of Imperial Beach meets in a club on Silver Strand Boulevard that has a full bar, an outdoor patio, a stage, a kitchen with food specials and plenty of seating. Inside there is a commemorative sculpture of an eagle with the names of FRA members on dog tags that decorate the eagle. The FRA is a second home for many, often hosting special events, dinners, field-trips and game nights.
The American Legion Dewitt C. Mitchell Post 201 is a branch of the largest veterans organization in the nation. The Legion aims to carry out its mission, as per its website, of "mentoring and sponsoring youth programs in the community, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting a strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow service members and veterans," in Lemon Grove.
Some of the many services it provides includes the creation of the Child Welfare Fund, the foundation and operation of the American Legion baseball league, the operation of the Heroes to Hometowns program, offering students scholarships, a family support network, POW/MIA advocacy and flag advocacy.

Located in Alpharetta, American Legion Post 201 is a veterans organization situated on a 13-acre piece of land that also features a war memorial paying tribute to Georgians who have served in the Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard, and their families. The American Legion Post 201 features military equipment and a nearly 8,000 brick walkway. Inscribed on the bricks are the names of those who fought bravely for their community and country.
