The organization represents more than 2 million disabled veterans, their families and survivors. The veterans group funds and operates programs that service veterans throughout the United States and its territories and possessions, as well as veterans living in other parts of the world. Its nationwide network of services is free of charge to all veterans and members of their families and totally supported by membership dues and contributions from the public. Not a government agency, the veteran s national organization receives no government funds.
