Holy Family is a large Catholic school teaching students grades kindergarten through 8th grade. This fully licensed preschool maintains a comprehensive after-school program. The school's curriculum involves religion, language arts, math, social studies, science, music and physical education. Parent involvement in the school is very important. Newman Hall-Holy Spirit Parish began 1908 and caters to the Roman Catholic community at the University of California, Berkeley. It was founded by the Paulist religious community who wanted to present Catholicism to Americans in a language they could understand. The parish has a variety of groups and activities including a volunteer group, a non-violence group, a LGBT Student group and hosts a weekly student meal. Young Israel of Northridge is a Torah observant Jewish congretational temple. It offers many educational programs for children, teens and adults. There are also many social activities for the whole family.
St. Paul's Episcopal Church was founded in 1927 to give people an alternate site of worship to the overcrowded mission of St. Matthew's Church. The mission became popular among San Francisco residents moving south after the 1906 earthquake, and St. Paul's was erected to accommodate the growing number of worshipers. Since then, it has grown to encompass a close-knit congregation of followers from around the peninsula. The church holds strongly to Episcopal philosophy.

Sherman Oaks Presbyterian Church serves the entire San Fernando Valley and welcomes people of all ages, genders and backgrounds to service. The church is under the direction of Pastor Reverend Zachary Kintner. Named in honor of Cardinal John Henry Newman, a prominent British Catholic, the Davis Newman Center is a residence and religious center designed to serve Catholic students at secular universities. Specifically, the Center provides ministry services to Catholic students. Christians of all denominations are also welcome. Informal social gatherings also occur here, along with personal events such as weddings, baptisms and funeral receptions.
Located on Burbank Blvd, The Adat Ari El Synagogue has been serving the needs of North Hollywood's Conservative Jewish population for well over 70 years. Notable members of this well-established institution include known community and local leaders. Since 1941, the synagogue has provided traditional Shabbat evening and morning services as well as Minyan and religious school seminars.
Women of the congregation are encouraged to become members of the synagogue's Sisterhood which is affiliated with The National Women's League for Conservative Judaism. Under its umbrella organization, the sisters of the synagogue offer various programs and seminars to strengthen relationships between congregation members as well as engage in community service.

Amidst several churches on Middlefield Road, University A.M.E. Zion Church is the oldest African-American church in the area. Formerly located on Ramona Street, the church moved to the current Middlefield location to provide a more fitting facility for the congregation. The A.M.E. Zion Church's emphasis is on "the salvation of the whole person--mind, body and spirit." Ultimately, it strives to be "The Freedom Church."
Armenian Apostolic Church is located on the 38000 block of Vista Dunes Drive in Rancho Mirage. The church offers community outreach programs for the homeless, as well as youth and prison ministries.
This congregation has for many years been heavily involved in social activism in the Davis community. Members were involved in the founding of local charities such as, STEAC (Short Term Emergency Aid Committee), Community Meals, the Cold Weather Shelter, Yolo Hospice, Citizens Who Care, Suicide Prevention, and Habitat for Humanity in Yolo County. Quite a few members have also served on the Davis School Board and City Council.
This church is relatively young compared to many Methodist churches in the area. However, from the beginning, following its split from the Presbyterian Davis Community Church in 1961, it has maintained and celebrated the Methodist traditions of inspirational music, and fostering small informal groups focused on spiritual and community growth and potlucks.
