The Oceanic Free Library is open six days a week (closed on Sundays). Anyone residing in Rumson can apply for a free library card, with proof of residency. The library holds a number of events, including a regular knitting group, the "armchair traveler," and a book club. Tutors can use the library, but must submit a completed application form first.

Kinnelon Public Library was founded in 1963. The library has 18 computers total on both the first and second floors dedicated to public use, and the library provides free Internet access. The library offers many programs for both adults and children. Friends of the Kinnelon Library hosts an annual book sale in which donated books are sold.
The Clarence Dillon Public Library is located on Lamington Road in Bedminster.
Aside from the many books it offers, there is also a community garden in the back.
