The Fairfax County Public Schools Alternative School Programs is a division of the Teen Alternative Program at Northwest Mental Health Center. Four teachers provide instruction for 20 students experiencing serious social-emotional difficulties that interfere with their participation in the regular school program. Admission is achieved through referral to the Mental Health Director of the Teen Alternative Program of the Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board.
Mental Health Fairfax Falls Church Community Services is a branch of the Fairfax County Mental Health Services. Its staff of psychologists, social workers and psychiatrists handles evaluations, referrals and mental health treatment. It has numerous inpatient and outpatient treatment programs, including substance abuse programs.
Huntley Meadows Park incorporates 1,425 acres of forestry and wetlands. The site is a popular place for bird watchers and families.
Visitors can stroll along the park's half mile long boardwalk. There is also a vistor's center, where there are brochures, periodic exhibits and restrooms.
Supporting the park is the group Friends of Huntley Meadows Park, with more than 400 members.
OAR of Fairfax County is a non-profit restorative justice organization that advocates for human rights. Providing educational resources, training, alternative sentencing and court programs, violence intervention programs, transitional and family services and more, OAR endeavors to create opportunities and alternatives for offenders and their families in order to maintain a safe community.
This local fairground hosts the Prince William County Fair. The fair offers rides for kids and has small businesses and stores set up and ready to sell gifts and foods.
