Des Moines Area Community College is a two to three-year public community college, serving the city of Des Moines and the region of Central Iowa. Offering associates degrees in a variety of disciplines, from English Literature and the sciences to Farm and Food Science, the DMACC is on the semester system and also offers online courses. A military-friendly school, DMACC also offers work study and other scholarship opportunities. According to its website, DMACC is the most ethnically and culturally diverse campus in the Iowa higher education system.
University Mills is an American Campus community of luxurious, academically-oriented student housing. This is the ultimate in student living in Cedar Falls and is located within walking distance of UNI. It's also on the Panther Shuttle route. The aprtments are set up with four bedrooms (all with locking doors) and two baths, full kitchen, covered balconies, with washer and dryer in each unit. The complex has full-time onsite management who arrange social and educational activities for residents to get to know each other. The Club House offers a fitness center, computer lab, tanning bed, game room and video game lounge. Internet, cable and waste disposal are included. Apartments can be rented furnished or unfurnished.
