Greenwich Catholic School is located on North Street, just outside of downtown Greenwich. They have a large campus next to a Catholic parish on the west side of the street. They are a co-ed school offering education for kindergarten through eighth grade. There is also a pre-K program. Many state-of-the-art facilities are available, including computer labs, athletic fields, and classrooms. Various extracurricular programs are available as well.
Temple Shalom of Norwalk is a Reform Jewish community. Originally conceptualized as a Reformed Temple to serve both Norwalk and Westport, the two communities split into separate temples soon after the original founding.
Since being built in 1963, the Temple has grown to include school wing, offices and a sanctuary. Today, congregants come from Norwalk as well as other parts of Fairfield County and Westchester, NY.
Winston Prepatory School, located on W. Rocks Rd. in Norwalk, serves students with learning disabilities. Students are grouped not by age or grade, but by skills and educational needs. In addition to giving careful consideration in assigning curriculum and coursework, the school also provides students with one-on-one education, every day. In addition, it offers programs in art, theatre and physical education.
Founded in 1929, Quinnipiac University offers 52 undergraduate and 20 graduate majors, and has received accolades from U.S. News and World Report for its academic programs. The scenic campus lies adjacent to Sleeping Giant Mountain, and boasts a host of athletic facilities, including the 185,000 square-foot TD Banknorth Sports Center where the college's men's and women's ice hockey and basketball teams compete. Quinnipiac is in the process of expanding to two new campuses, the 250-acre York Hill Campus located roughly a mile away from the main quad and home to the first major wind farm incorporated into an American university, and the North Haven Graduate Campus, which began housing the school's numerous graduate programs in 2010. Quinnipiac University also operates the nationally renowned Quinnipiac Polling Institute, which conducts widely cited public opinion polls on politics and public policy.
Pear Tree Point School is an independent day school for children from kindergarten through 5th grade. The school prides itself on small classes in a nurturing atmosphere, and an integrated course of study using the Core Knowledge curriculum. An unusual addition to their language classes is instruction in Mandarin.
