Saint Mary's Episcopal Church and School in Lakewood has a history of serving military families. After walking through the front doors, the crimson carpet in the forum opens up and the chapel holds a congregation.
The school and teachers are an important piece to the Church. The year-round education and summer daycare program helps maintain a consistent, positive message.
Lil People's World encourages kids to tap into curiosity while learning, growing and developing. With a belief that kids learn best when actively involved in activities and exploration, Lil People's World has a curriculum of daily activities filled with hands-on learning. Infants, toddlers and preschoolers all attend here and are provided with age appropriate activities to help foster learning.
Lil' People's World provides childcare for infants and young children in a residential setting located next to Lake Hills Elementary. The daycare, which also has locations in Kirkland, Seattle and Lynnwood, offers a 10 percent discount for Microsoft employees and a 15 percent sibling discount. Public vouchers are also accepted.
Emmanuel Day School is a non-profit, non-religious preschool (despite its location) next to the Emmanuel Episcopal Church. It offers four programs for preschool youngsters that stress social skills, writing, problem solving and math. It has aligned itself with the goals of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The Emmanuel Day School fills enrolment quickly so parents are advised to apply for positions for their children early in the year.
