Elite Indoor Sports offers a 28,000-square-foot indoor facility for soccer, lacrosse, flag football and more. It has camps and clinics to help athletes improve their skills. Throughout the year there are also youth and adult leagues for different sports (see web site for seasonal schedules). Your Fit Club is a fitness center located on Highland Road, just west of Home Depot. It offers 24/7 access, personal training, free weights, 17-station Keiser strength system, showers and a Nutritional Health Counselor on staff. There is also the Keiser "Boot Camp" which is a 30-min. co-ed high intensity fat burning, muscle toning group fitness class that was designed especially for Your Fit Club. WhirlyBall is a venue offering an opportunity to play a team sport. The sport of whirlyball involves bumper cars and combines lacrosse, hockey and basketball. In general, each team should have 5 players. WhirlyBall offers a large court at approximately 4,000 sq. ft. with 10 WhirlyBugs cars (five red and five yellow). It makes for great entertainment for a party. Advance reservation is required.
The Macomb Township Recreation Center is a 90,000-square-foot facility just off 25 Mile Road open to both residents and non-residents for a per visit or monthly fee. The host of numerous community events such as the Tree Lighting and Halloween Hoopla, the center is also a state-of-the-art fitness facility. Opening in 2004 and completing its expansion in 2007, the center now boasts two full gyms, two aerobic dance studios, 64 cardio machines, a 7/10 mile walking track, two party rooms, game room, indoor playscape, child watch room, weight room and pool area. The workout room is home to 20 flatscreen TVs and the pool includes a lazy river, jacuzzi, children's playscape, water slide and changing rooms. Numerous programs and fitness classes offered through the Macomb Township Parks and Recreation Department are held at the center and rooms are available for private parties.
