Deerfied Park District, established in 1951, provides recreational programs and facilities for residents of all ages. It features various parks, such as the Jewett Park, Patty Turner Senior Center and Garfield. It also offers playgrounds, fishing area, lakes and pools to the residents. The other facilities include the hickory room, Oak room, dance studio, skating park, disc golf course, and park for preschool children. The fishing center of the park provides a variety of services that include educational sessions on fish identification, casting, knot tying, and bait and tackle. In collaboration with the Forest Preserve District of Cook County, volunteers have maintained a tennis oasis since 1924 at the corner of Lake Street and Harlem Avenue for all to enjoy. Season passes and usage fees cover all operating expenses. Newly renovated for 2010, players of all skill levels are welcome to experience nine state-of-the-art clay courts. For a day trip, make lunch in the kitchen and relax at a picnic table or in the clubhouse. Entrance is off of Bonnie Brae, and the facilities are open May 15 - Oct 1.

Formed in 1976, Northeast DuPage Special Recreation Association (NEDSRA) is a nonprofit organization that offers recreational and leisure programs for adults and children with disabilities. Located in Addison, Ill., it provides approximately 600 programs and services to more than 4,000 separate individuals in a year. These are available in the categories of physical development/fitness, money management, sportsmanship/teamwork, leisure education/community integration and development of lifelong hobbies/skills, among others. NEDSRA serves pre-schoolers, children, teens, adults and seniors with disabilities, such as autism, multiple impairments and behavioral disorder.

The Iron Oaks Environmental Learning Center is a 37-acre nature preserve in which the main focus is environmental education and outdoor recreation. A joint project between the Homewood-Flossmoor Park Distric and Olympia Fields Park District, it is open to the public for group outings, outdoor classroom education, corporate outings, team building and private events. Indoor facilities include room rentals and The Discovery Center, which are available for birthday parties, bridal and baby showers, weddings, student groups, corporate seminars and presentations. Iron Oaks is open year around.

The Oak View Community Center is located on a tree-filled campus on the east side of Oak Lawn. Its field house contains many museum-quality nature displays of the area's early history, as well exhibits of sea creatures, animals, shells, rocks and minerals.

The center offers a diverse selection of programming, including art classes, fitness, recreation programs and pre-school classes.

The Oak Lawn Community Theater is also stationed at Oak View, staging four critically-acclaimed family musicals per year in a newly renovated gymnasium complete with stadium seating.

Rooms in the community center are available for rental for private parties. The center also has chairs and tables available for rentals. Room rentals range in price from $25-$59 per hour and can accommodate private parties of up to 200 people. 

The outdoor park grounds include a baseball field, picnic grounds, playground and a sand volleyball court. 

Residents can also register for park district programs at Oak View.

Established in 1958, it operates more than 15 tennis courts and provides private and group lessons to players of all ages through its team of tennis professionals. The club operates the Salt Creek Club Grill, which offers a variety of lunch and dinner menus, including sandwiches, salads, wraps and pizzas. Salt Creek Club maintains a pro shop that stocks a range of equipment and accessories, including eyewear and apparel for men, women and children. The John B. Norris Recreation Center in St. Charles, Ill., offers a variety of activities to its members. The tennis facility at the Norris Center offers any player of any ability level the opportunity to play, compete and learn. The four indoor courts offer superior indirect lighting and a top-quality playing surface. Additionally, the Norris Center has eight outdoor courts available for summer programs. The Center offers more than 35 classes per week for all fitness levels. Aerobics classes with its certified instructors are available to all monthly and annual club members on an unlimited basis during their memberships. Norris Recreation Center also offers exercise programs individually designed by its certified personal trainers. It also has six of the areas finest racquetball courts and three of the area s finest walleyball courts. All courts are air-conditioned.

The Wheatland Athletic Association (WAA) is a non-profit parent volunteer organization which provides youth athletic programs to all residents and community serving Naperville, Aurora, IL and the surrounding areas. WAA was founded in 1977 to provide T-Ball for 60 children. Today we have over 12,000 annual participants and offer a variety of programs for children ages 2 – 18 as well as adult programs. The Wheatland philosophy is to progressively develop childrens skills by offering programs for various age levels. As they develop, the children are taught the value of good sportsmanship and teamwork. Our intent is for the children to have FUN and to learn to enjoy the sport they play. Many of the WAA programs are noncompetitive which provide a non-threatening and a positive experience for the children. Competitive leagues and Travel Programs are also available for the more skillful and experienced players. WAA structures programs so they are geographically convenient to our residents by establishing teams and scheduling events in close proximity to neighborhoods and schools. Coaches attend clinics to develop and improve their knowledge and coaching skills. WAA relies on parent involvement which makes all of our sports a lot of fun for the entire family. Each year we offer Fall and Spring Soccer, as well as, Girl’s and Boy’s Traveling Team Chicago Soccer, Recreational Indoor Soccer, and Adult Soccer. Flag Football and Fall Baseball programs are also popular and fill quickly. Basketball is offered in summer and winter months for children in grades K – 12. Included in the basketball program is a more competitive league for boys grades 2 – 8 who are interested in playing more skilled teams. We currently offer Traveling Wizards Basketball teams in grades 3 – 8. We have a baseball program which includes T-Ball, Rookie, Single A, Double AA, Triple AAA Baseball, Minors, Majors, and Ponies Competitive Leagues, Recreational Softball for girls 1st – 8th grades. Our Travel Ducks Baseball Program is for 8u –18u, and Travel Spikes Softball is for 8u – 18u.
