Located off of Burnham Drive and behind Costco, the Gig Harbor YMCA offers many attractions to the health enthusiasts. This huge two-story complex features cardio and weight equipment, pool, rock climbing wall, racquetball courts, kids adventure zone, teen center and cafe with Wi-Fi.
Multicare also has an office upstairs that offers massage therapy, podiatry and nutrition counseling. Several classes are available such as cycling, yoga, swim lessons, ballet, martial arts and various sports activities. As part of a non-profit organization, the Y also offers financial assistance and volunteer programs for everyone.
City Year is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping students throughout the country who are at risk of dropping out of school. It offers tutoring, mentoring and after-school programs led by recent college graduates who have been trained by the organization. This office is the Boston headquarters for the organization.
Housed in a former fire house on Monmouth Street, the non-profit Brookline Community Arts Center offers a wide range of community art classes for adults, children and families. The center also organizes rotating exhibits of local and internationally renowned artists.
Free and reduced-cost classes are available for elderly residents and low-income children.

The Historical Society of Glastonbury was established in 1936 to preserve the town's historical heritage and to display it in an educational and entertaining manner. Its museum, located in the former town hall at 1944 Main Street, houses exhibits ranging from Native American artifacts to early 20th century items. The society maintains an extensive schedule of house tours and walking tours, and hosts the annual Farm Festival and Antiques Festival.
Feed My People was started by John and Carol DeGuire in 1982. They wanted to help impoverished people in South County with a Christian theme. The largest St. Louis charity, Feed My People has an emergency help center, food and home needs pantry and provides several services to people in need. Helping over three million people last year alone, they arranged for heating units in apartments, help with food stamp applications, aid the elderly with taxes and offer free legal counseling. Several area churches serve on the board and offer constant donations.
The Thrift Store opened over 20 years ago and offers clothes, housewares, jewelry and toys at a cheap price. The store is staffed by volunteers and was named the best thrift store in St. Louis by the Riverfront Times.
The Connecticut Community Providers Association is a trade association. It represents different organizations that provide services and support for people suffering from disabilities and other issues. These include children and adults with substance abuse issues, mental illnesses as well as development and physical disabilities. Additionally, the association collaborates with community providers as well as state legislatures and agencies. The Connecticut Community Providers Association is led by president and chief executive officer Terry Edelstein.
