The Highland Park Community House is a cultural institution. Located just north of downtown Highland Park, the house plays many roles:  it's an art center, it's available to be rented for public events and it houses a Montessori school. A number of social clubs meet here on a regular basis, including some of Highland Park's professional and charitable organizations.

Ravinia Festival is a nonprofit organization that organizes concerts by several musical personalities, such as Pablo Casals, Tony Bennett, Sheryl Crow and Yo-Yo Ma. Operational for more than 100 years, Ravinia Festival is one of the oldest outdoor music festivals in North America. The festival attracts over 600,000 listeners to nearly 150 performers in the classical, jazz and theater music genres. Its 3,200-seat, open-air pavilion is the summer home of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and hosts a variety of musical productions, concert performances and operas. Ravinia Festival also provides a range of dining in facilities, such as the Park View Restaurant, Mirabelle, Ravinia Lawn Catering, L Caf and FanFare Carts. It offers a music integration program, MUSIC DISCOVERY, for elementary teachers and students of Chicago Public Schools. The Steans Institute for Young Artists is the Ravinia Festivals professional studies program for young musicians. Ravinia Festival is located in Highland Park, Ill.

The Northmoor Country Club is located in central Highland Park. This exclusive golf club has certain restrictions about the types of shoes and equipment allowed on the pristine course. One particularly friendly golfer said that although a golf game is taken seriously here, the main goal is still to have fun. Reportedly, this course is particularly challenging, and members take pride it in its immaculate appearance.

Established in 1930 as the Family Service of South Lake County, Family Service: Prevention, Education & Counseling NFP, is a nonprofit organization. It provides human and social services to individuals, families and communities. Family Service: Prevention, Education & Counseling NFP offers individual, couple and family therapies and in-home family guidance services to people who suffer from mental and physical disabilities. It also provides community education programs and stress and money management services, as well as conducts school-based parenting and caretaker burnout prevention workshops.
