Producing new works and classics through an Alaskan lens is the hallmark of Perseverance Theatre. The Theatre is one of the nation s leading nonprofit regional theaters. It has collaborated with leading theater artists and premiered more than 50 new plays by Alaskan and national playwrights. Perseverance serves its audience through extensive education programs, play reading festivals, statewide tours, radio productions and outreach collaboration with groups such as Ilisagvik College and the AWARE Women s Shelter. It is also one of the few theatres nationwide to have received an endowment challenge grant from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation s Leading National Theatres Program.
