Operational since 1976, Amos House is a nonprofit social service agency that provides hospitality solutions to homeless and poor individuals in Rhode Island. The agency manages a soup kitchen that offers breakfasts and lunches to 800 people daily. It also provides permanent and transitional housing solutions. Amos House organizes a variety of job training programs. The agency offers substance abuse counseling, health care, money management, and transportation and eyeglass assistance services. In addition, it provides a selection of personal hygiene items. The agency manages a catering division, More Than a Meal, which offers food for business meetings, events and private functions. Its clients include The Rhode Island Foundation and the Providence Art Club.
