The faith-based charity of the Salvation Army reachers nearly 120 countries around the world. Its mission is to help those in need without discrimination. The greater New York division has many locations, one of which can be found in downtown Peekskill near the corner of Nelson Avenue and Diven Street. Programs offered by the caring organization include emergency disaster services, employment assistance, after school programs and youth outreach. It also provides soup kitchens, Sunday worship services, support groups and seasonal activities.
