Founded in 1967, Greensboro Urban Ministry is an ecumenical outreach agency supported by more than 200 congregations representing protestant, Catholic, and Jewish faith traditions. As a nonprofit organization, it provides crisis intervention and emergency services by offering the basics needs of food, shelter and clothing. The center also offers an emergency assistance program that helps in the payment of past due rent, mortgage payments and utility bills. Greensboro Urban Ministry operates a Potter s House that serves daily free meals to more than 350 people. Additionally, its chaplaincy program supports prayer, counseling, teaching and worship activities through its volunteers, staff, pastors and musicians.
