Multi Service Center houses the Hoboken Health Department as well as the superintendent of Parks Department. Hoboken residents can visit for free health screenings and special clinics. Additionally, the center has a gymnasium that is used for a variety of activities like indoor soccer and family fitness programs.
This facility, located on Bakers Basin Road near Shinney Lane, serves as the headquarters of Lawrence Township's Department of Public Works. The public works department is responsible for maintaining all township roadways and storm drains. This includes plowing snow and removing leaves and other yard waste. Public works employees also maintain the township's recreational facilities and care for township buildings.
It is here that the township stores its fleet of trucks, snow plows and other equipment. Mechanics employed by the public works department conduct repairs and do preventative maintenance here on the township's police cars, ambulances, fire trucks and other vehicles. Township vehicles also come to this facility to refuel at the gasoline and diesel pumps located in the rear yard.
Thomas Edison National Historical Park is home to Thomas Edison's historic home and lab, where he developed many of his great discoveries and inventions. Edison's home is the Glenmont Estate and the grounds are open for tours and public visits for families and children. Ranger-led tours are available at scheduled times throughout the day for the Laboratory Complex, which includes a phonograph demonstration, a tour of the chemistry building and a look at the Black Maria, the world's first film production studio. There is a Junior Ranger Badge program for children offered here. The park has a bookstore. Reservations are only required for groups of more than 10 people.
