TPC of the Twin Cities is a private membership golf course north of Minneapolis. Designed by legendary golfer Arnold Palmer, the course opened in 2000. It hosts the 3M Championship, a Champions Tour professional golf tournament. TPC of the Twin Cities offers a dramatic stadium-style golf course that challenges the golfer with a collection of water hazards and waste bunkers. Though fully modern in its appearance and approach, the design has a links feel to it. Player consultant Tom Lehman helped the course achieve both playability for the amateur golfer and a degree of difficulty to challenge the professionals. The 7,164-yard, par-72 layout was converted from a flatland sod farm and is the centerpiece attraction to a 550-acre residential development. Golf Digest magazine nominated it for Best New Private Course when it opened.
