Loyal Order of Moose is a fraternal organization with locations throughout the country and the world. This Babylon location is Lodge # 1421 and provides various sports and recreational programs, as well as various community services. Women of the Moose holds meetings at this chapter and offers various programs, including youth awareness and Special Olympics events. This location is south of Montauk Highway and one light west of Wellwood Avenue.
Since 1927, the American Legion Cathedral Post 1087 in West Hempstead has served as a place for local veterans to connect and provide support for active and retired service men and women. Inside and out, the post pays homage to our nation's veterans, particularly thos who hailed from the West Hempstead community. The building itself also includes a reception hall with a dance floor, disco light, bar and kitchen. It is used by the vets as well as other members of the community. The West Hempstead Senior Citizens and the local Boy Scouts troop both hold meetings and events here on a regular basis.
Bellmore American Legion Post No. 948 is located on Royle Street off Route 27. The American Legion is a non-profit and is the nation's largest veteran's service organization. It works to help the community by mentoring students and through its sponsorship of youth programs in the community, including sports leagues, foundations and educational programs.
Elks Benevolent & Protective Order of Lodge is a club for men. Elks Lodge offers scholarships and helps inspire youths. Elks Lodge offers dinners, meetings and other programs.
Knights of Columbus is run by a Catholic fraternal organization and it hosts a variety of events, both public and private, such as birthday parties, award ceremonies, lectures, local charities, political events, and weddings.
The Knights of Columbus were founded on March 29, 1882 in Connecticut when the state legislature officially approved the group's charter as a fraternal benefit society.
The organization was formed to provide financial assistance to members and their families. That is still the group's guiding principle. Mutual aid and assistance are offered to sick, disabled and needy members and their families.
The East Northport hall is available for rental for both members and non-members.
