Musical Arts of Exeter is a dance academy that offers dance, music and theater. It also offers summer camp, summer movie camp and spring music recitals. Musical Arts of Exeter has schools in Exeter, North Hampton and Kittery.
The Portsmouth Gas Light Co. is a restaurant with an outdoor deck available weather permitting. The multilevel business has a Downtown Pizza & Pub as well as a third-floor nightclub.
Voter's School of Dance & Gymnastics was founded in 1951 by Pam Voter. The school teaches Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop and Lyrical dance. The gym has apparatus for both women's and men's events, along with equipment and mats for preschool and school aged children. Voter's School of Dance & Gymnastics also holds a Shaolin Kempo karate class.
Let's Dance Studio holds over 10 group classes a week, including Zumba fitness sessions. Classes are held in four week sessions that include free weekly practice sessions and free monthly balls. Newcomers receive a free 20 minute private lesson so that when they enter the classroom they will feel more confident. Some of the classes that are offered include Ballroom, Latin, Argentine Tango, Hustle, Mambo, Samba, Viennese Waltz and the Quickstep. It also has private lessons for the Foxtrot, Waltz, East and West Coast Swing, Tango, Rumba, Cha Cha, Salsa and more. There are also workshops and lessons for those wishing to practice their wedding dances.
Led by artistic director and owner Sarah-Beth Smith, Gate City Ballet provides instruction in pointe, jazz, modern, lyrical and hip-hop dance styles. It also entertains audiences with an annual Nutcracker performance.
Dance Connection provides dance classes and education for dancers of all ages and skill levels. Classes include ballet, tap and jazz, as well as hip hop, cheerdance and gymnastics. Performance opportunities in various community venues are available to students, and some performance participation is mandatory for Company students.
