This government office maintains the county's voter registration records and operates all polling locations. This office is the overseeing body for elections on all levels of government, from the municipal to federal. The office of Voter Registration and Elections is located in the same building as the Dekalb County Tax Commissioner and office of motor vehicle registration.
Cherokee County Historical Society maintains the county's archives, historical documents, photos and other artifacts. It has more than 400 members and offers local history tours and other educational opportunities. Stefanie Joyner is the executive director.
Keep Barrow Beautiful is a county organization that promotes quality of life through programs that address solid waste management, education surrounding natural resources, county beautification, stewardship and recycling. It is headed up by Shannon Navarre, whose office is located in the Barrow County Administration Building.
To serve as a juror in Cherokee County, you cannot have a felony conviction (unless civil rights have been restored) and you must be a U.S. citizen, a county resident and at least 18 years old. Jurors are randomly selected from a list of eligible citizens that the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners maintains.

The $22 million, three-story administration building is the new showpiece of Cherokee County. This state-of-the-art, energy-efficient building is more than 78,000 square feet and houses the offices of Cherokee County executives, department heads and other personnel. The conference center has more than 8,000 square feet of meeting space, a 160-seat auditorium and several dining areas.
Cherokee County Conference Center is located in the Bluffs at Technology Park. It features space and support services for conferences, meetings and other events, including various rooms, an auditorium, Wi-fi, wireless mics, configurable floor areas, AV systems and dance floor areas. Catering services are available.
Solicitor General David Cannon Jr. is the chief prosecutor for the State Court of Cherokee County. His office, which is located on the first floor of the Historic Courthouse, investigates and prosecutes misdemeanors ranging from shoplifting to bad checks.
