Alpine Community Center, established in 1950, promotes, supports and provides facilities and programs for the social, cultural, educational and recreational needs of all youths and adults of Alpine, Calif., and surrounding areas. The nonprofit center cooks lunches and delivers them daily to elderly people who are restricted to their homes. The center has a youth program that offers child care facilities for children of ages 2-to-16, preschool program for children up to five, and before and after school programs for children up to 12. It also has a teen center that offers a range of programs, intergenerational activities, and provides meeting space for youth groups. Alpine Community Center is located on more than 7-acres of land, offering a softball field, picnic facilities, childrens play yard and tennis courts.

Since 1994, Marin Computer Resource Center has provided free, refurbished computers to those who need them. Used and discarded electronics and computers are reclaimed and reborn through their training program. To date, they've given away thousands of computers to schools, nonprofit organizations and economically or physically disadvantaged people. Volunteers learn to restore computers and electronics for home, school and office applications.  Donations of computers, printers, monitors, TV's, VCR's, stereos, phones and all their accessories, working or not, are gratefully accepted.
