Holy Family is a large Catholic school teaching students grades kindergarten through 8th grade. This fully licensed preschool maintains a comprehensive after-school program. The St. Vincent De Paul Society maintains a thrift store at this location. It offers a wide variety of men's and women’s clothing, antique furniture, books, mattress sets, and appliances. It also provides free bread and water to the homeless in the area on a regular basis. The St. Vincent De Paul Society accepts most donations, but the clothing must be clean and items cannot be soiled.
The Fairfax Library, at the west end of town across from St. Rita's, is one branch of the Marin County Free Libraries. In addition to being connected to the other county-run libraries, such as the ones in West Marin, the Fairfax Library is connected to all other town libraries through a database. Library card-holders are able to reserve or check out books from any library in the county. The Fairfax Library also puts on a number of community and kid-focused events. There are reading clubs for adults and teens, as well as weekly children's groups. The library posts a blog on its website that keeps patrons up-to-date with the most current events. In addition, the library recently began a service, Overdrive, which allows card-holders to download books and audio on their computers.
Loma Linda Ronald McDonald House, located on Anderson Street in Loma Linda, seeks to create a "home away from home" for families of critically ill and injured children who receive medical treatment at Loma Linda University Children's Hospital and nearby medical facilities. This location, part of 280 houses nationwide, offers charitable services to children and their families since 1974.
First Chinese Baptist Church, Los Angeles (FCBC-LA) is located in the heart of Chinatown, directly across the 110 freeway from Dodger Stadium. FCBC-LA is a congregation of people committed to following Jesus and intentionally trying to make an impact for God in the many communities represented by our membership. Located on Burbank Blvd, The Adat Ari El Synagogue has been serving the needs of North Hollywood's Conservative Jewish population for well over 70 years. Women of the congregation are encouraged to become members of the synagogue's Sisterhood which is affiliated with The National Women's League for Conservative Judaism.
