There is never a dull moment at this VFW post where veterans and their family members gather to watch television, shoot the breeze, play pool and more. This is truly a place where everybody knows your name. Known as the Acorn Post, the facility is open all day and into the night. Separate ladies and men's auxiliary groups meet monthly.
Gilda's Club is a cancer support center, but don't think of it as a sad place. Gilda's Club, in fact, is full of the hope and joy of its namesake Gilda Radner, famous Saturday Night Live player. Gilda's Club was founded in Radner's honor by her husband Gene Wilder, her doctor, and other friends. Gilda's Club offers support, social events, learning activities and more for both people with cancer and the people who love them.

This service group has a building in the heart of downtown Royal Oak. It's a place where friends gather, fundraisers are planned and spirits are high. The FOE supports a variety of local charities. Members from Hazel Park, Royal Oak, Madison Heights and Clawson also get together on a regular basis for motorcycle rides.
