The Iowa City Odd Fellows Lodge is an official chapter of the International Order of Odd Fellows. This fraternal order is open to men and women, and exists to promote personal and social development in the community. The Odd Fellows are involved in a variety of projects and charitable initiatives to help members and the public.
The Masonic Temple, located on College Street, is a stately building with decades of history governed by of one of Iowa City's oldest societies since 1914. The Masonic Temple hosts regular meetings of the Freemasons, who are constantly working to raise funds and volunteer to help make life better for everyone. Monies raised have helped the following charities: the free lunch program at Wesley House, the Hope Lodge Cancer Society, the Cloth a Child program, the Behavior Intervention Program, the Salvation Army and many others.
Iowa City Elks Lodge 590 is a private club. It offers a range of sports and recreational facilities, including a nine-hole golf course and a heated swimming pool. It also features a dining room and banquet facility. The club is open to the public for meetings, private parties and wedding receptions, as well as pool-side lunch and dinner service.
