Operational since 1916, National Park Service is a bureau of the U.S. Department of the Interior. Located in Port Alsworth, Alaska, the bureau manages more than 390 units of the National Park System and 40 national heritage areas. It conducts an array of activities for kids and teachers, such as junior rangers, park fun, distance learning and professional development, to name a few. Additionally, National Park System specializes in constructing buildings, roads as well as operating wastewater treatment plants.
