Incorporated in 1976, Comprehensive Juvenile Services is a private, nonprofit community agency that works to improve the lives of youths and families in western Arkansas. The agency serves individuals with several problems, such as abuse, delinquency, truancy and family difficulties. It has served more than 10,000 youth and families. Comprehensive Juvenile Services also offers monitoring, counseling, transportation and advocacy solutions. The agency serves individuals in Crawford, Logan, Polk, Scott and Sebastian counties in Arkansas. It manages Western Arkansas Youth Shelter, which serves youths with behavioral problems. The agency provides community, intensive supervision and mental health services. In addition, it offers the Active Parenting of Teens program. The agency accepts referrals from courts, churches, and law enforcement and health care organizations. Comprehensive Juvenile Services provides casework and outreach options for runaway and homeless youths.
