Volunteers of America is a national nonprofit service organization that promises "to go wherever we are needed and do whatever comes to hand." Each year, VOA's professional and volunteer corps help nearly 2 million people in more than 400 communities throughout the country.
The Jamaica Plain/MA branch provides services for at-risk youth, drug addiction, veterans and the elderly. Programs include Massachusetts Stand Down for veteran outreach; Operation Backpack, providing school supplies to kids; and the Literacy Matters Book Fair.
