Established in 1899, Veterans of Foreign Wars is one of the largest organizations of combat veterans. Based in Ajo, Ariz., the community assists families in providing national veteran service, transitioning, troop support, post military assistance, family assistance and national military services. It offers various programs in the categories of military assistance program, unmet needs program, operation uplink program, benefits delivery at discharge program, among others. Veterans of Foreign Wars runs its own VFW magazine, which is the official publication of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.
