The Humane Society of Macomb is a non-profit, private organization dedicated to caring for unwanted and abused animals in a humane manner. Rescued animals that are available for adoption can be visited Monday through Saturday. The shelter opened in 1967 and has been educating the public on how to properly care for animals ever since.

In addition to veterinarian services, it takes part in community animal relief efforts by hosting pet adoption days for local animal non-profits. It is closed on the second Saturday of each month.
