Established in 1938, Harrison Rural Electrification Association Inc. is a nonprofit electric utility firm based in Clarksburg, W.Va. It serves the citizens of Harrison, Doddridge, Marion, Taylor, Barbour, Upshur and Lewis Counties. The cooperative offers energy calculation services and satellite Internet to its members. Its complementary products include GenerLink switch and Tesco surge protection systems. Harrison Rural Electrification Association Inc., a Touchstone Energy Cooperative, has also installed an automatic meter reading device in essentially all residential and some commercial meters along with a device called a turtle, which reads each revolution of the disk on the meter.
