The Bobby Riggs Tennis Club & Museum, located across the street from San Dieguito Academy High School, was the home club of the late tennis star whose 1973 exhibition match against Billie Jean King made international headlines. The YMCA is located inside of Don Juan Avila Elementary School. The YMCA is one of the oldest and largest young mens' organizations in the world. Sportsplex USA in Poway is a recreational facility that is open to the public and for private events such as sports leagues, tournaments and corporate events. The facility features three baseball fields, two indoor soccer fields, a batting cage, a concession stand and a pub. There is a $2.50 entrance fee for everyone 16 years and older. California Spirit is a competitive cheerleading program that offers recreational and educational tools for cheerleaders. Epic Volleyball Club is a junior boys and girls club in a large, state-of-the-art facility. Head coach Pat Bonner has coached college and club teams, and was an assistant coach for a 1991 Seaside club team that won a national championship. Players have gone on to play for UCLA, NYU, Yale and Harvard. The club shares a building with the associated company Volleyhut.com, an online retailer for volleyball supplies.
