The Family YMCA houses a heated pool, gymnasium, child care facilities, art studio, fitness center, weight room, exercise studio, dance and yoga studio, massage therapy suite and sauna and steam room. The non-profit organization also aims to impact the wider community by offering educational scholarships and support to individuals of all faiths, races, ages, abilities and incomes.

Opened in 1979, Ronald McDonald House at Stanford is a temporary home for families with critically ill children who are receiving specialized treatment at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital.  The House can accommodate 47 families in private rooms with baths. There are communal cooking and dining facilities, and a wide variety of amenities and programs onsite to help provide a supportive environment to families going through a challenging time. The Woodlands Foundation is a camp complex designed for a variety of programs for people with disability or chronic illness of all ages.  The complex for several buildings and activity areas.  Some of the programs are summer camps, weekend retreats, music, sports and arts programs, wellness classes, golf on the region's only accessible, par-3 golf course.

The Catholic Youth Organization operates St. Vincent's School for Boys, a multi-service agency serving children and families in the North Bay Area. There are three divisions, including: a residential treatment center for boys in San Rafael, a foster family agency with families in several counties, and two group homes in San Francisco serving adolescent girls and boys on probation. St. Vincent's School is a long-term treatment center with 40 beds for boys ages 7 to 19 who come from 30 different California counties.
