Total Soccer of Royal Oak is located on Lexington Boulevard, directly across from the Royal Oak High School. It provides soccer team events for all ages, from tots up to adults. This includes leagues, camps and clinics for both male and females. Total Soccer Central also offers field rentals based on availability for its mini and main fields.
Elite Indoor Sports offers a 28,000-square-foot indoor facility for soccer, lacrosse, flag football and more. It has camps and clinics to help athletes improve their skills. Throughout the year there are also youth and adult leagues for different sports (see web site for seasonal schedules). Rochester Youth Soccer League headquarters is located on Walton Blvd west of Livernois Rd. This soccer league is for boys and girls ages 3 – 18. Although this is a community based organization, membership is not limited to residents of Rochester. Their web site gives out information for everyone from coaches to players and their parents. Soccer is a great way for kids to get in shape and make new friends
Community Sports Park is located on the west side of Keith Rd., between Commerce and Willow roads. Keith Elementary School is its neighbor to the south. The park features three ball fields, the Jeff Raben Soccer Field, and tennis courts. There is also a picnic shelter and restroom building. Each summer, Community Sports Park serves as the home of the West Bloomfield Senior Softball teams that play in the Oakland County Senior League. Adult softball teams also play at the park during the summer.
Canton Township's fire department is a fully-staffed unit of the Canton Public Safety Department. Firefighters are required to have emergency medical certification. In fact, nearly three-quarters of the calls for help are for medical aid, according to township records: In 2009, the firefighters responded to 5,816 calls, of which 4,766 were for medical aid. In addition to providing fire safety education, fire prevention and fire supression, Canton firefighters provide advanced life support, car seat safety checks and HAZMAT response. The department belongs to the Western Wayne County Mutual Aid Association, comprised of 24 agencies based in Western Wayne, Washtenaw and Oakland Counties. Canton Township's fire chief is Tim Dunn.
