The Salemwood elementary school is located just down the road from Malden High School. The school educates around 1200 students serving grades K through eight and has over 100 staff members. It has a special education program for students with special needs as well as programs for Sheltered English Immersion students.
The Salemwood School also provides after school programs for children. It has Citizen School, which offers participating students hands-on apprenticeships, community explorations and homework investment time. It also has an active arts program in which children can participate in productions such as "Annie."
Cheverus School of Sacred Hearts offers students a traditional curriculum of writing, math, reading, science and social studies as well as courses in computers, creative arts, physical education and foreign language.
The Forestdale School is a K-8 school in the northern reaches of Malden. The school promotes a curriculum designed to "enhance the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social needs of all students."
The Salter School of Malden is located on the adjacent corner from the Malden Center train station. The Salter school provided career training in programs such as massage therapy, professional medical assistants, computer and business skills training, paralegals and more. Salter offers convenient day and evening class schedules so that you can finish your education on your time.
The Salter School also has career planning for its students and offers financial aid to qualifying individuals. The Career Services department offers Alumni networking, weekly job postings, resume preparation, Internet access, e-mail and much more.
If you are on a budget and looking for some stress relief, the massage school is open to the public and offers reduce-priced massage therapy.
The Linden STEAM Academy is a public magnet school operated by Malden Public Schools. It specializes in communications and humanities multi-media, with a focus in social science, language arts, art, music and geography classes. The school also offers a gifted program. The current Malden city solicitor is attorney-at-law John J. Grant Jr. The city solicitor can be found on the 6th floor of the Malden Government Center Building in room 613. It is right across the street from the Malden Center T Station. The solicitor is responsible for drafting deeds, examining real estate titles and defending and prosecuting all cases against the city.
The Linden School has classes for years kindergarten through eighth grade. The curriculum focuses on humanities and communication arts as the basis of all studies, including math and sciences. The school offers several special programs for its students including one that is geared towards gifted students.
