North Haven Academy, a Paul Mitchell partner school, makes a bold statement from its location on the site of a former bank on Washington Street. The two-story, white and glass building has huge, floor-to-ceiling glass windows that are filled with the images of beautiful models posing for the passing traffic. The beauty and hair design school is also open to the public for assorted services such as cuts, color, color correction, make-up and waxing. Services are offered to men, women and children. Walk-ins are accepted, but it's best to call ahead to make reservations at the student clinics.
Vanity Studio offers a variety of hair services for women including cuts, extensions, feathers, relaxers, coloring, styling, up-dos, hair treatments, lash extensions and more. It also offers in-salon or at-home bridal party packages, which include hair styling and makeup for the bride, bridesmaids and flower girls. Fresh fruit and mimosas are also provided. A Princess Birthday Party package is also available, which can include hairstyling and a manicure for each guest, a group photo, party bag, fashion show and pizza and juice.
The Hamden Campus of the Marinello School of Beauty is located in the Putman Plaza shopping center. Its curriculum is designed to teach students the skills they need to become successful cosmetologists, aestheticians, manicurists and makeup artists. Workshops, career advice and other resources for students are also available.
Renasci Academy of Hair is a hairdressing and cosmetology school conveniently located near the South Norwalk train station, I-95, and Route 7. Students are given the opportunity to work on actual clients, performing such services as cuts, color, highlights, perms, braiding, and more.
