The Calvert City Convalescent Center, Inc. is a local, nonprofit 100-bed nursing facility that provides all levels of nursing care to residents. The center s rehabilitation team includes physical therapists, occupational therapists and speech language pathologists and nurses, and provides dietary, social services and activities to residents. The physical therapy treatments include flexibility and strengthening exercises, and gait training, balance activities, safety with transfers and pain management techniques. The center s licensed speech therapists assist individuals to learn to master new communication skills and to handle chewing and swallowing difficulties. Many individuals learn skills to assist with memory loss. The center also offers occupational therapy where abilities are regained using splints and adaptive equipment.
