The Harry Schwettman Education Center is an alternative school and drop-out prevention program run by the Pasco County school district. In addition to fostering learning, the school encourages students to replace negative behavior with positive behavior. It uses a point system to give privileges to students who follow classroom expectations.
Cotee Elementary School is a 10-time winner of the Five Star School Award. The public school, supported by an active PTA, offers a Pasco County school district curriculum and uses Learning Focused Strategies to teach literacy. The LFS incorporates essential questions, vocabulary words, and graphic organizers to help children learn.
Storybook Schoolhouse offers free, voluntary pre-kindergarten classes. All of its teachers have CDA (Child Development Associate) degrees and are trained in CPR and First Aid. The curriculum encourages students to learn about shapes, colors, numbers, socialization and motor skills. The teachers also conduct music, art, dramatic play, story time and physical education classes. They also offer Spanish, computer and jitterbug gymnastics classes.
Storybook Schoolhouse is a Gold Seal Center and is nationally accredited by APPLE.
