Established in 1999, The Claremore Super Recreation Center is owned by the city of Claremore and operated by the Parks and Recreation Department. It is a more than 70,000-square-foot facility that features aerobics and weight rooms, as well as racquetball, indoor tennis, volleyball and basketball courts. The center also has life fitness and hammer strength equipment. The Claremore Super Recreation Center provides swimming team, day camp and various community-based programs. In addition, it organizes birthday parties and events. The center has a staff of more than 50 part-time and over three full-time individuals. Community Intervention Center, located in Oklahoma City, serves as a 24-hour juvenile reception and intervention hub for youth arrested in the entire Oklahoma County, Okla,. Licensed by the Office of Juvenile Affairs, it is one of the services provided by Youth Services for Oklahoma County, a nonprofit community organization that advocates, educates, intervenes and counsels troubled youth and families to make a positive difference in their lives. Youth brought to the center get a glimpse of the realities of the justice system. They are listed in the state juvenile on-line tracking system, photographed and some are fingerprinted according to the offense. Parents are notified quickly upon admittance and youth are released to their custody or that of a guardian within 24-hours.
