Established in 1979, Caravel Academy is a private, coeducational, independent, nonprofit educational institution. It serves more than 1,000 students in kindergarten through 12th grade through its early education, lower, middle and upper schools. The academy is accredited by the Middle Atlantic States Association of Colleges and Schools. Its academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as English, mathematics, science, social science and foreign languages. The academy offers a variety of extracurricular activities, such as a computer club, calculator team, math league, student councils, yearbook, marching band, concert bands, chorus and annual theater productions. In addition, Caravel Academy provides various athletic activities, including field hockey, football, soccer, volleyball, baseball, basketball, wrestling and softball. It is located in Bear, Del.
