The JCC of Greater Baltimore is a community organization serving Owings Mills and the surrounding areas. The center offers a wide range of programs and activities for teens, adults, children and families. Programs include fitness classes, sports leagues, personal training, child care, pool access, swimming lessons, and numerous art programs including music and film. The JCC offers a wide range of camps for various age ranges including early childhood, tennis, martial arts and special needs camps. The center is also affiliated with summer camps in the area, which offer children a wide range of opportunities including nature hikes, sports and rock climbing among many other types of activities. This Jewish all-girls school is one of the largest private schools in the Baltimore Metro system. Its entrance is marked by a guard rail and sign between the tree lines along Park Heights Avenue. It recently opened a middle school and high school on a separate campus in Mt. Washington.
Timber Grove Elementary School provides a stimulating learnign atmosphere to students. The school offers both the Parent Teacher Association, or PTA and a School Improvement Team, which meet regularly to enhance the education and extracurricular experience. Timber Grove is located in a quiet neighborhood north of Gwynnbrook Avenue.
