The Westport Weston Cooperative Nursery School was founded in 1955 as a parents' cooperative. Now fully professionally staffed, the school serves children ages 1 through 5. Enrichment programs in music, movement, natural science and French complement the daily program.
Three Four Open the Door is a private school for boys and girls ages two to six. Established in 1994, the school provides music, science and art workshops in addition to its programs. It operates as a summer program as well.
The Westport Weston Family Y Early Learning Programs have been recognized by the National Association for the Education of Young Children as providing developmentally appropriate care. The program is open year-round, and is the largest provider of childcare in Westport and the surrounding communities.
Facilitiated by experienced CPR and degree certified teachers, the Early Learning Programs provide comprehensive care in an environment of enrichment activities. Parental involvement is strongly encouraged and scheduling is flexible with full and part-day options, in addition to two, three, and five day schedules. Financial assistance is available to ensure that all those interested in the Weston Family Y Early Learning Programs are able to participate.
Programs available are for infants/toddlers (6 weeks-3 years), preschool (3-5 years), and Kinderkids (afternoon kindergarten). Kindergarten transportation is provided from all Westport public schools.
