There is no place where Winston-Salem's tobacco history and modern day culture come alive than at the Reynolda House Museum of American Art. The house, originally built for tobacco mogul R.J. Reynolds, now serves as the location as one of the largest collections of art in the Southeastern United States.

Best and worst times to go to Reynolda House
For those going to the Reynolda House area specifically for the museum, there is no bad time to go, but for those who also want to spend time in the nearby Reynolda Gardens the typical mild or cool, sunny day will be by far the best time to go.

Must see and do at Reynolda House
The museum's exhibits are continuously changing, which means few things stay on permanent display. One thing to admire is the architecture of the house, which has been adequately maintained. In addition, many of the original items that were in the residence are on display. After viewing the various collections and exhibits, go and relax at the scenery of the Reynolda Gardens and greenhouses.

Admission to Reynolda House
General adult admission is between $10 and $15, with free admission for children 18 and under and those with a valid military ID. Admission is also free for college students with valid identification.

Parking and public transportation at Reynolda House
Free parking is provided for visitors to the museum. The best option is to go by car because the Reynolda neighborhood is one of the city's main roads and easy to travel, whether you are a local or out-of-towner.

Food options near Reynolda House
No food options are available within the grounds of the museum. Throughout Reynolda Road, one of the city's main thoroughfares there are numerous options. At nearby Reynolda Village of Wake Forest University, there are a wide assortment of options. Village Tavern provides a variety of options such as burgers, steaks and flatbreads in a high-end environment, while Pane E Vino offers Italian fare at an affordable price.

Local tip
If you are acquainted with any of the staff or students affiliated with Wake Forest University, ask for them to go with you. They get in for free and are granted a "plus one" whenever they go.
