North Carolina Central University is one of the oldest universities in the United States. Located in Durham, N.C., NCCU has been operational for more than 100 years. The university enrolls more than 4,000 undergraduate and graduate students annually. It provides various intercollegiate, intramural and recreational sports programs, such as basketball, cheerleading, golf, track and field, cross-country, baseball, tennis, badminton, swimming, soccer and softball. The college offers majors in liberal arts education, vocational and instrumental music, professional studies and teacher education, elementary and secondary education, reading and instructional technology, media management, English and mathematics, business management, economics, and world history. NCCU also offers courses in neuroscience, childhood education, mass communication, agricultural and industrial arts, and foreign languages and literature.
