Welcome to Fort Collins/Lakeside KOA! Make us your base camp for touring the Front Range of Colorado. We are on the NW corner of Ft. Collins and only five minutes from Colorado State University, ten minutes from Poudre Canyon and within one hour of Laramie, Cheyenne, Boulder, Estes Park, Denver and Rocky Mountain National Park.Big-rig friendly RV sites have 50/30 amp, water, sewer, WiFi and cable. Tent sites, cabins, cottages and lodges are available if you want to leave your RV at home. Schedule your next group outing or family reunion with us. We have two conference rooms, a large pavilion and a small gazebo for special events.Our recreation center will keep the whole family busy with mini golf, bumper boats, paddle boats and a jumping pillow. The Denver Botanic Gardens, located in the Cheesman Park neighborhood of Denver, features North America's largest collection of plants from cold temperate climates around the world. It is known for it's beautiful plants as well as fun activities like touring exhibitions from visual artists like Dale Chihuly, a summer concerts series and Christmas lights in the winter.

Parking and public transportation
The Denver Botanic Gardens has both an above and below ground parking garage as well as street parking in the very safe and secure surrounding neighborhoods of Cheesman Park and Congress Park.

Best and worst time to go to Denver Botanic Gardens
While the Gardens to have a greenhouse and several indoor attractions, most of the viewing is done outside. Visit the park in the spring or summer where the plants are blooming and the weather is nice. While holiday lights are available towards the end of the year, winter is not an ideal time to visit.

Cheeseman Park, located to the West of the Gardens is one of Denver's best kept parks and, as legend has it, very haunted. Board a Banjo Billy's Bus Tour and have them tell you all about the spirits that roam the area.

Insider tip for visitors to Denver Botanic Gardens
​A Denver B-Cycle Station is listed right outside of the gardens and is a convenient and fun way to get there. Also, if you have children, be sure to visit the Kid's Area located across the Gardens on York Street.

At our Stable located in Bear Creek Lake Park we can accommodate small or large groups for horse rides with miles of trails set in over 2600 acres of beautiful parkland with its natural habitat, preserves and wildlife. This experience is good family fun and a great adventure. If you have a child with special needs we can accommodate you with our trained Wranglers and experienced Staff to help make this a special day for your family. For over 10 years we have provided our popular steers “Max” a 2000lb Brahma and “B J” a 2100lb Texas Longhorn in our photo booth for kids at the National Western Stock Show. These intimidating but gentle steers where orphaned at birth and hand raised resulting in incredibly good behavior and safe dispositions. They are also popular at School functions, Church socials and Nursing homes. Max has been known to make bedside visits at our local Morrison Nursing home. They are great for rodeos, fairs and neighborhood or town events and very successful when used for fundraisers. Prices vary by function so give us a call so we’ll be glad to give you a bid for your upcoming event. Whether you have 10 people or 300 people we can take care of your next Company party. Our outdoor facility can provide an old western style to your next event. From catering various menu favorites like Brisket, Chicken & Ribs to farm raised Hogs for a Pig roast, well get you taken care of. You can play horse shoes, play volleyball, take a trail ride or enjoy a draft horse drawn hayride with all your friends. Alcoholic beverages are allowed as well as live or recorded entertainment.
