Incorporated in 1978, Rappahannock Council on Domestic Violence is a nonprofit organization that provides crisis intervention services. The organization is funded by the United Way, as well as through state and federal grants. It offers 24-hour assistance services. Rappahannock Council on Domestic Violence provides emergency shelters for women and children who are domestic abuse victims. In addition, the organization offers advocacy and volunteer services for individuals. It organizes community presentation and training sessions. The organization supports a curriculum-based program for women who are involved in abusive relationships. Rappahannock Council on Domestic Violence also supports a 24-week educational program for men who have been abusive to their partners.

This church's current sanctuary has stood on Hanover Street since 1842, and the congregation's roots reach back to the early 1800s. Fredericksburg United Methodist Church is located in the heart of downtown Fredericksburg, directly across from City Hall. The small park next to the sanctuary is lined with a few benches. The church offers a variety of worship services throughout the week.

The Fredericksburg Area Food Bank provides food to people in need in the five counties of Planning District 16. The Fredericksburg Area Food Bank partners with more than 80 different member agencies in providing food for the poor and hungry. The Fredericksburg Area Food Bank does not give out food to individuals at this location. Instead, the food is repackaged and stored here for distribution to the different member agencies and food pantries. It is these smaller charities that deliver the food to the needy.
