The Sprinkler Fitters and Apprentices Local Union 550 teaches its members and apprentices about fire sprinkler systems and fire safety regulations. There are classes for the apprentices and the 25-year members. The union uses state-of-the-art valve rooms, a computer lab and classroom instruction.
Boomerangs is a second-hand store located on Centre Street, with a big blue awning out front. The store sells furniture, linens, shoes, accessories and clothing. Bommerangs accepts donations, which are 100% tax deductible. If you would like to drop-off a donation, you can do so between 8:30am - 7pm Monday - Saturday. Ring the doorbell for assistance, and someone will come out to take your donations and provide you with a tax receipt. There are three dressing rooms available.
Part social club, part 'fraternal order', the Benevolent Elks have grown quite a bit since the organization's humble beginnings in 1868; currently there are an estimated one million members scattered throughout 2,000 lodges across the country. This location, Lodge 10, is known as "the New England mother lodge." It moved into the space at the corner of Spring and Morrell in 2007, directly behind the VA Hospital. Presidents Roosevelt, Truman, Kennedy and Ford were all active Elks Lodge members.
West Roxbury Main Streets (WRMS) is a non-profit organization that works to promote West Roxbury's business district.

WRMS has a four prong approach to achieving its revitalization goals: enhancing the physical appearance of the commercial district; improving its economic stability; marketing its features and benefits; and promoting community involvement.
The organization does this through fundraisers and business events.
Comprised of 800-members, Irish Social Club features live traditional Irish music, a full bar and one of the biggest dance floors in Boston. The aging club is well past its heyday when it was many thousands strong, but the party of the brogue lives on. Available rent-free for benevolent uses on Friday evenings, the club features regular local acts and the occasional performance straight from the olde sod. Admission is $10.
