Built in 1630 by Richard Sparrow, the two-story building that is now known as the Richard Sparrow House is Plymouth's oldest existing wood frame house. The building is now a museum offering visitors a glimpse of what life was like for the town's early settlers.
In addition, The Richard Sparrow House is also has an award-winning gallery which displays handmade jewelry, glass, pottery and wood, much of which is made by local artists.
Located on the banks of Town Brook, The Richard Sparrow House is within walking distance of many other local attractions.
Located on 25-acres in a beautiful pine forest between Long Pond and Round Pond in Plymouth is Pinewoods, a traditional dance and music camp. It features dance pavilions, rustic cabins, an open-air dining hall and a camphouse for most of the gatherings. Swimming is also available on the lakes and ponds.
Music sessions are held from June through September. They include both weekend and week-long sessions, and are for dancers and/or musicians with any level of experience.
The American Legion was chartered by Congress and is the largest veterans service organization in the country. Post 40 is located in Plymouth and is temporarily closed for the winter as its members complete work on the flood-damaged building. It is projected to re-open in the spring of 2011.
