This is the office location for the Special Olympics of the Cape & Islands. The growing Southeastern Massachusetts and Cape & Islands program currently trains more than 1,100 Special Olympics athletes and unified partners (non-disabled teammates) in 26 individual and team sports. Activities throughout the year include track and field games at Barnstable High, Cape Cod School Day Games at Mashpee High, Habilitation Assistance Corp. motor skills at Otis AFB, bocce assessment at Mass Maritime Academy and the Senior Sports Classic in Falmouth and Bourne.
Cape Organization for Rights of the Disabled advances the independence, productivity and integration or people with disabilities into society. It provides services including transportation, assistance on navigating disability laws, educational programs and technical programs to improve quality of life for people with disabilities.
The Hyannis Public Library is located in one of the oldest buildings in downtown Hyannis. It has a wide variety of books and materials for children and adults. The library is also a part of CLAMS -- Cape Libraries Automated Materials Sharing -- which enables patrons to obtain any book, video, CD from any library on Cape Cod.
