The Greater Palm Harbor Area Chamber of Commerce is a group of businesspeople who have come together to promote the community and its member businesses. This helps businesses within its purview flourish. Ostensibly, this benefit should trickle down to the community.
This Chamber also promotes community events like the annual Fine Arts and Crafts Festival on the Chamber website.
The Growing Tree Christian Preschool serves children aged two to five, and has a variety of programs to suite many different family needs. These include voluntary Pre-K, mother's morning out (which includes one year olds), wrap around care, reasonable rates, scholarships and tuition payment via PayPal. It has a very comprehensive website that offers information like teacher to student ratios. Visit this site here to see its county inspection reports.
The Suncoast Primate Sanctuary Foundation is a non-profit 501C (3) organization that cares for primates. The sanctuary, which is run by volunteers, was founded in 1954 by Bob and Mae Noell and was originally known as "The Chimp Farm."
The primates at the sanctuary come from different backgrounds: some were rescued from abusive situations or were circus performers; others were pets who could no longer be cared for by their owners.
Primates who live in the sanctuary include chimpanzees, orangutans and a variety of monkeys. Other animals making the sanctuary their home include a goat, turtles, alligator, and a Burmese python.
The sanctuary is open to the public.
